Clearing Membership
Any current CME, CBOT, NYMEX and/or COMEX clearing firm ("CME Clearing Firm") is eligible to become a GreenX Clearing Member. If not already a CME Clearing Firm, a firm would have to also become a member of one of those entities, which involves the purchase of seats/shares. To become a GreenX Clearing Member, a CME Clearing Firm must submit the following:
- a Green Exchange Participant Application and Agreement, which will be reviewed and completed by Green Exchange,
- a CME Group Application for Clearing Membership on Green Exchange LLC, which will be reviewed and confirmed by CME Group's Clearing/Audits team;
- a CME Group Agreement for Pre-authorized Payments (ACH Debit Agreement) for Green Exchange, which will be accepted by CME Group, and
- a new CME Customer Connection Agreement, Schedule 6 (Clearing Firm Guarantee and Acknowledgement), Exhibit B (Participating Exchange Clearing Firm Guarantee and Acknowledgement), indicating that the clearing member agrees to allow its customers to access GreenX as a Participating Exchange. With respect to this item, any CME Clearing Firm that already has executed a CME Customer Connection Agreement will only need to complete a new Exhibit B to Schedule 6, and not a complete new agreement. When completing the new Exhibit, note that your Clearing Number(s) for GreenX as a Participating Exchange will be the same as the Clearing Number(s) for NYMEX.
Any CME Clearing Firm interested in becoming a GreenX Clearing Member should contact Andrew Pisano to request the appropriate documentation.
